Job Posting - Electrical Engineer for a German-Owned Company in Rochester Hills, MI: Friday, June 30 (Application Deadline)

meetus@US, an international executive search & recruiting firm, is looking for an Electrical  Engineer for a German manufacturer of automotive components company in Michigan. 

Basic Function:
* Organize and communicate project requirements
* Prepares, manages and presents cost estimates vs actual for assigned projects

Departmental Responsibilities:
* Electrical controls design and support
* PLC programming and HMI design (Siemens S7 1200 and WINCC).
* Ensure projects are defined clearly, taking into consideration both customer and the companies requirements
* Assist with assembly, testing and troubleshooting of robotic and system equipment
* Provide on-site technical support and field service duties as required
* Provide technical support, including responding to customer technical inquiries as needed
* Manage projects related to system engineering
* Support the sales, service, and other departments technically, as required
* Create and maintain bill of materials
* Create conceptual drawings
* Create detailed assembly drawings and electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
* Manage assigned projects, tracking issue and assignment status, timelines, budget, product cost and overall project objectives
* Conduct formal reviews at key project points to executive management and other support areas as appropriate
* Ensure project compliance with legal regulations as well as customer, and the companies procedures
* Monitor project budget status throughout the project, and provide regular updates to the manufacturing manager and when requested; executive management

* Assist and support the problem solving process with design or manufacturing suggestions and participant in affecting a prompt resolution
* Keep all project documentation current, including project snapshots, timelines, issues and task lists
* Ensure completion of APQP documentation, and continual development (DFMEA, PFMEA, Process Flows, Line Layout, etc...) in coordination with supporting departments
* Evaluate and report on project at closure, and update the "lessons learned" database
* Other reasonable duties as required

Safety Responsibilities:
* Contribute to maintaining a workplace free from serious recognized hazards and comply with standards, rules, regulations, and policies regarding safety protocol
* Report any workplace conditions that appear dangerous or potentially hazardous
* Follow the proper procedures for the safe use of tools and equipment associated with the employees' position and properly maintain this equipment
* Immediately report any workplace injury or illness to your manager and Human Resources
* Attend all required Safety related training and or communication sessions

* Work with the global Lean Team to develop like processes globally
* Work with Global product development teams as necessary to develop global products

* Assign tasks and hold project members responsible and accountable for assigned tasks
* Call meeting of project steering committee regarding critical developments
* Require meeting attendance for communications & issues resolution
* Participate in the selection of team members as requested

* Read, write and speak English fluently
* Minimum 4 yr B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Business or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 yrs work experience in product development or manufacturing
* Knowledge of: Electrical control design, engineering, and PLC programming techniques.
* Two years of large system programming experience including: PLC ladder logic, HMI screens, servo motion control, and robotics preferred
* Two years' experience using structured text programming languages required. Examples include programming Ignition's SCADA software, ABB's Robotic Studio, Staubli's VAL, or FANUC's Karel.  Other experiences using languages such as C++ or Pascal will be given consideration
* Must be able to create and clearly present technical data, in a variety of environments (customer, internal, supplier, etc.)
* Capable in appropriate software, ie., MS Project, Power Point and Excel.
